First step for Evernote is to start using Evernote (takes a bit of use to get it, I think). Once you start getting it, and start using it to its full potential, premium is a no-brainer, I think. If anything, the local storage on my phone makes it totally worth the $5 per month. That means I can use Evernote inside buildings (which are natural AT&T defensive shields).
