Got pretty far today, but not quite to the end.
Spelunky Lesson of the Day: Sacrificing in Hell is a real risk, and is generally not recommended. I pretty much only did it in an effort to finally secure a Kapala, but it was quite possibly responsible for my undoing.
2:54 - Very nice find, especially since the jetpack wasn't on display but rather wrapped up in the mystery box. I felt the other items (climbing gloves plus bomb bag and compass) were already worth robbery, but the jetpack really let me know I made the right choice on that gamble. The mystery box is unlikely to be a game-changer if you plan on buying or stealing it, but sometimes luck is in your favor with them.
19:34 - Now THAT was a close call. Had the spread been a little different, I would've flushed a good Hell run down the toilet. Fortunately, I escaped and was able to continue on, but remember that as a warning to not engage shopkeepers in close quarters if you can help it.
42:06 - You have to admit, that's a pretty weird City of Gold entrance spawn position.
43:02 - I swear, those arrows are vengeful sometimes. You could've guessed that would've happened? Glad I had the health to absorb that hit, and I was fortunate that crush trap didn't ruin my day.
49:17 - Far from the best I could do, but not a bad haul at all.
54:34 - Some would say that's a lot of effort for a measly three bombs. Those people are probably right, but opportunities to get extra bombs in Hell (before Yama anyway) tend to be few and far between, so I thought I'd gain a small edge by nabbing them by just having Olmec dig them out for me.
