Yep another one ^^
This one had a colour palette so I only did 1 layer of shading this time so it's less detailed than my previous one.
As you could use any characters, I chose Albatross, Burn and Hawthorn to have a variety between the story arcs. Also I thought Hawthorn would be appropriate because of his love of tea!
Really happy with Burn especially because front-facing dragons are so hard to draw.
Time taken: Around 50 minutes.

Well this took way too long.
Fun fact: for almost a month after uploading the MAP Call, I did absolutely nothing on these parts because my motivation threw itself out the window. And after almost another month of fighting these parts, theyre finally done!
That awkward moment when part of the sketch looks better than the finished part XD
Could I have done this as completely PMV? Probably. Did I? No because my dumb brain told me to animate it instead because apparently I like to make myself suffer.
I did the fancy thing where you show the different stages. I also tried doing keyframes which I dont usually do, which is why the first sketch looks all jerky. The reason theres no lineart stage on its own is because I colour my frames as I go instead of doing all the lineart first and then going back and colouring everything.
My lipsync has improved, but Im out of practice with animating and a lot of frames have different proportions because completing this was such a battle against myself; Ive just been so tired lately. Watching the finished parts, I do like this a lot more now than when I was actually working on it.
How many frames are in this? Somewhere around 100 I think... so of course my dumb brain would tell me to include as much detail as possible for that many frames ;0;
Scene from book 14, but theres no spoiler warning because these parts dont actually spoil anything.

My favourite part of this is when Snowfall flies in and lands on the cliff.
At some point I will be opening a thumbnail contest for this MAP, I just havent got round to making the video yet.

Oof this took way too long XD
Sorry about the bad editing, its going to be a LONG time until Im any good at editing XD And yes I did reuse the same drawing of the Eye of Onyx and some of the backgrounds about 300 times, I think you can tell which parts I lacked motivation on XD You can also see why I dont draw people ;0;
Im really proud of the dragon designs though :3
I decided to show them growing up: Burn training and beating other dragons in a fight, Blister wanting the Eye of Onyx and the throne, and Blaze drooling over all the treasure in their palace. And then them later with their allies.
So after a 20 year war, who is the new SandWing Queen? None of them XD As you can see in the video, Burn and Blister die and Blaze is the one left alive, but she isnt the queen. Who is? Read the book and find out.

Super messy WIP. Its going to look a lot better when its done.
I hadnt actually planned to upload this but I liked it the more I worked on it so here it is XD
I chose to do Albatross and the Seawing massacre. He stabs Lagoon, impales Splash on her own spear and kills one of the musicians. Then hes looming menacingly over Fathom and Indigo.
Can we just take a moment to remember the fact that one of the unknown musicians was actually brave enough to attack an animus dragon?? I just had to include her in there hitting him on the head with a guitar. (I cant actually remember what instruments the dragons had so a guitar seemed suitable)
Im a bit shocked that I got into this map, but I hope this looks Ok so far :3

This wont win but I like it anyway. Im so happy with Whiteouts eye!
So this MAP is kind of an AU where the dragons are designed as puppets and honestly all the character designs and the overall aesthetic of the MAP are super creative!
The word Dollhouse is blue because its supposed to be Arctics stuffing, and the torn fabric its on has Arctics colours... I dont know how to draw stuffing properly so it just looks weird.
They have 5 fingers! What is this witchcraft?
Theres 4 layers of darker shading and 1-2 layers for light shading.
Sorry if this gives anyone eyestrain: this is 3 hours of work condensed into about 4 minutes so the videos faster than I thought it would be. Also I was constantly having to look at the character references so thats what keeps flashing during the line-art and colouring stages. (If you just want to see the finished drawing, skip to 3:50)
