In this segment from my recent video on ideas of Death and Afterlife from Homer to Plato, I look at what some tomb artifacts--often called the Orphic "Golden Plates," or Lamellae--which, so far as I know reflects some of our earliest Western ideas that humans are immortal, the earth is not our home, and in fact human beings belong in heaven and "fell" from heaven. This represents a total overturn of the ancient view of death.
