Guys,
I wanted to create a build solely devoted to the Spears of the Church. I've put a lot of time into many different types of builds, and i can say with a fair bit of confidence that this is one of the best builds you can use.
A few additional notes:
* Spear buffs - reddit.com/r/darksouls3/comments/6442tt/psa_spears_of_the_church_boss_buff_amounts
* SirGray's Pyro bully Spear build: youtube.com/watch?v=5r1bP4W99Ck
* Unlisted video of a funny series of Spear invasions I had: youtube.com/watch?v=n4hICYGNxHY
A few additional notes of things I didn't cover:
* Projected Heal - not a fan - too transparent, and not enough health in return.
* Offensive miracles - I haven't had a lot of luck with ranged miracles (lightning arrow), and I don't want to burn FP on non-healing miracles. Lightning Stake might be a good choice, but then I'd really want both Miracle rings (Sun of the First Born, and Morne's). For me, it just wasn't worth giving up my ring slots.
* I didn't mention passive regen via items like blessed caestus, Ethereal Oak, Princess ring, etc). These can definitely help, and if you're good at ring swapping, swapping to Princess is recommended.
* I also didn't talk too much about the implications of standing poise. Especially after playing DSR, i realized that against multiple opponents, you can do all sorts of nifty things like face-tanking a single R1, then parrying the follow-on. Or, you can execute poise backstabs. Ultimately, playing as a Spear opens up opportunities that aren't otherwise available to you, and likely won't be on your opponent's radar.
