Not much is known about the South African group “Spankk”, other than the fact that the members were Keoagile “Blondie” Makhene, his brother Clifford Makhene, as well as Phyllis and Mpho (most likely siblings of Blondie and Clifford, as “Spankk” is generally regarded to have been a family group). Their genre of music is generally described as R&B / Soul / Funk.
“Spankk” released their first, self-titled album in 1981, and followed this up with “Just A Little Love” in the following year. In 1991 they released the album “Serious” as “Spankk starring Pam Makhene” (which probably indicates that Pam was also a family member, most likely a sibling). They also released several 7” and 12” singles between 1981 and 1991.
