An Environment Agency report published in spring of 2024 highlighted how five years of beaver activity at the nearby Spains Hall Estate reduced the impact flooding for the downstream community of Finchingfield.
We visited Spains Hall to find out how the beavers have impacted the hydrology of the site, how the team have been protecting valuable trees like cricket bat willow from beaver foraging and how they have been scaling up to now three enclosure on site.
