Flight 12 will start the two thousand twenty-six launch schedule, and it will use a completely new version of Starship. Many people think this mission will be similar to the older flights, but that is not true. SpaceX changed a lot of things on the rocket, and these changes have not been tested in a real launch yet. Because of that, this mission is actually one of the hardest steps in the program so far.
We already saw signs of how challenging the new design is when Booster Eighteen was tested. Before engineers even filled it with super-cold fuel, they ran a pressure test. That test showed a major problem. The oxygen tank, which takes up a large part of the seventy-one meter booster, split open. The methane tank below it bent out of shape. This test made it clear that the new Version Three structure still needs more work. If a booster breaks on the ground, it would definitely fail during an actual launch when the forces are much stronger.
