Most people are shocked when they learn that the Sun could fit 1.3 million Earths inside it. But that's not the part that blows my mind.

The truly strange thing is how empty space is.

Imagine shrinking Earth down to the size of a tennis ball. The Sun would still be as large as a two-story house, and it wouldn't be next to Earth. It would be nearly 800 meters away.

That's the scale of our Solar System: huge worlds, enormous stars, and vast stretches of almost nothing in between.

The deeper you look into the Universe, the more you realize that emptiness is not the exception.

It's the rule.
