【Soundscape of Singapore】

I’m back in Singapore for the second time in 10 years, and it feels both familiar and completely new.
As an artist, I felt inspired to start a project combining sound and visual art-“Soundscape of Singapore”.

Singapore is a place where cultures truly resonate with each other.
The lively chatter and clatter of dishes at hawker centres, the temple bells echoing through Little India, the colorful birds chirping in the nature reserves… each sound carries a unique texture and mood.

In this project, I record the environmental sounds across Singapore and translate the city’s “soundscape” into a live painting on a single canvas.

アーティストとして、何かプロジェクトを始めよう、と思い立って”Soundscape of Singapore”シリーズを始めました。

多文化が共鳴する街、シンガポール。
ホーカーに溢れる喧騒や食器の重なる音、リトルインディアに響く寺院の鐘、自然保護区で羽ばたく色とりどりの鳥の声。

この動画では、シンガポールのさまざまな場所で録音した環境音を聴きながら、ライブペインティングで“シンガポールの音色”を一枚のキャンバスに描き出します。
