Using a hammer, punch, and cold chisel to dismantle a century-old reclaimed horse carriage leaf spring in preparation for forging.

The spring assembly came from the homestead site of my great grandparents, likely from the scrap pile of a great uncle who was a blacksmith.

The hammer was a gift from another grandpa, it came out of his old tractor shed workshop where I used to spend hours, and the cold chisel is one of the first tools I forged when learning under Mr. Emmanuel A. Schrock in the early 1990s.
