A Vinyl Community live stream, playing and chatting vinyl records, new and old, from experimental music to dub, with healthy doses of post punk, indie, modern classical, electronic music, folk, psychedelia, hip hop, techno, global sounds, etc.

If you enjoyed this, maybe even found ideas of records to get, and want to tip your DJ & support the channel to do more of the same and better, you can do so here, it really makes a difference : ko-fi.com/stunty or paypal.me/stuntrockconfusion

A record collection is both a companion and a reflection. And it does not operate in a vacuum : What happens around you does affect how you "dress" it, where you "take it out". Lately, the destinations have been somewhat "dangerous", and the dress code went both extremes : lo-fi redneck, and hyper glamorous.
This past week, I felt I needed to go back to basics a little, and went deep in the suburbs to one of my secret digging spots, to embrace the local and the "normal". At least my normal, not necessarily yours.
And it went pretty well, I must say. It's funny how a few additions to your collection may make you look at it from a different perspective, as the question invariably goes back to "who am I?" But I guess I'll always be more interested in the future answer to that interrogation, even if those episodic markers remind us we're on a journey.
And this week's journey should be quite interesting. I don't know exactly where it will take us, but even if you should expect ethnomusicology, library, avant garde, electronic music, jazz, drone , modern classical, dub, club music, folklore, etc, I feel the boat's captain might be drunk! So let's go under together, for a couple of hours!

I must tunnel
Under the bloom of dreams,
Under the frame-work of fancies,
Tunnel alone.
What if I shatter frail things,
Break delicate flowers of myth
Timorous dreamers have sown?
I must go down
Below narrow roads men have made,
Below bridging lies men have built,
Into the caverns of truth.
I know pain is waiting there
Eager to break me,
But I am strong.
I have faith in my youth.
Living is crusted with lies.
I want life naked,
Laughing and young.
Not fettered, not tamed,
But life unashamed,
With the cry of Desire on her tongue.
