Day 035, orbit 0541 – Three cargo vehicles departing the Station in just three weeks… and since I recorded this video, we also waved goodbye to a Progress!
🔔 The Northrop Grumman Cygnus NG23 was named S.S. William “Willie” McCool in honour of the NASA astronaut and naval aviator test pilot who perished in the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia accident. Following a U.S. Navy tradition, Jack – who shares the same professional background – rang the Station bell to mark the spacecraft’s departure.

Jour 035, orbite 0541 – Trois véhicules cargo ont quitté la Station en trois semaines, et depuis que j’ai enregistré cette vidéo, un Progress s’est encore ajouté à la liste !
🔔 Le cargo Cygnus NG-23 de Northrop Grumman portait le nom de S.S. William “Willie” McCool en hommage à l’astronaute de la NASA et pilote d’essai de l’aéronavale disparu lors de l’accident de la navette Columbia en 2003. Fidèle à une tradition de l’US Navy, Jack – qui a suivi le même parcours – a sonné la cloche de la Station pour marquer le départ du Cygnus.
