The Soo Line was one of the most memorable railroads of the Midwest with their colorful power, and areas it served. Today, most of the locomotives, and freight cars, have passed onto history. This was different back in 2010 and 2011 when the Soo was still all over the place!
This video will focus on Soo Line locomotives leading Dresser Turns, also known as Ballast trains. These would be loaded in Dresser, WI, and go all over the system. We'll see a number of these lead by Soo SD60s, GP38-2s, and even a Milwaukee Road bandit! All of the power seen in this video has since been repainted, or retired.
