Reviewing the Sony WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds, the best buds for 2026 (so far) boasting several upgrades vs the XM5. Well over two years in the making, the Sony WF-1000XM6 boast excellent noise cancelling, improved audio features and new (if still chonky) design. I've been testing them for a fortnight now so here's my impression, and please do subscribe for more wireless earbud reviews!
Now, these TWS may be rather chonky as usual, with a less-than-compact charging case. However, Sony have shoved so many great features into the WF-1000XM6 buds that I'm inclined to forgive them. The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) is adaptive and works incredibly well, helped by the upgraded processor and two bonus mics vs the XM5. If you travel a lot, you'll frankly love these earbuds.
You've also got a fantastic ambient mode, so you can hear what's happening around you, but annoying noise like traffic is still dampened down.
The Sony WF-1000XM6 wireless earbuds pack a ten-band EQ and a handy feature that can tweak it to suit your audio preferences. You've also got a bunch of other interesting features like background listening, plus some solid battery life.
