This is how my old Sony 4-head SLV-L4 VHS system works! I actually like a lot this VHS, and when the Internet gets slow, you don't need to wait until your video charges, it just plays without interruptions.
Let me tell you some of this machine's history; my parents bought it when they got married, something about 1994 or so. Then, when VHS got obsolete, they give it to me in order to play with it or something. But with so many years of hard use, some things have been stop working properly, like the cassette elevator for example: sometimes when you introduce a tape, the cassette gets stuck between the upper part and the rollers, so you need to open the videocassette in order to release it. Another thing is that sometimes random the stop mechanism don't work and when you rewind the tape and it gets to the end, the motor makes a mess with the tape.
But, displacing those little funny details that actually makes my video mode unique and amazing, the video works simply amazing and I can't imagine an smartphone during that long. This VHS was made when things where made to last, and I think with the proper maintenance it can last forever! Those little problems that I told you before can be easily be repaired shortly and cheaply.
