A common misconception by new filmmakers is that they think that the Sony NP-F970 has the same capacity as a 99WH v-mount battery as both are around 6000 mAh, which causes a lot of confusion. As most people don't know it is mAh on a certain voltage. So the NP-F970 is 6600 mAh on 7.2 volt and v-mount is 6875 mAh on 14.8 volt, double the voltage means also double the capacity.
The proper value to look at is the Watt Hour , which makes a lot more sense and is the same value across different batteries with different voltage. As the F970 got 47.5Wh and the V-mount is a 99Wh one.
