In its day, this was a very high end Hi8 video recorder which includes PCM digital audio capability. This one has broken down, let's see if we can find out what is wrong and get it going again. Bear in mind that new spare parts are unobtainable, and we only have fairly low resolution service manuals. It uses the Sony U-mechanism deck. There are probably very few working examples of this video recorder left.
