A new report claims PlayStation could be using social media bots to defend its decision to stop making physical game discs.
According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, AI was used to analyze accounts posting in support of PlayStation’s digital-only future. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of promising vampire-themed role-playing The Blood of Dawnwalker - and previously director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - has said a delayed next-generation of consoles would be "better" for a studio like his.
The report says many of those accounts looked suspicious, with recent creation dates, AI-generated profile pictures, and very similar posting patterns.

NO DISC 💿 NO BUY They could come out and say the PS6 is only $200 and I still wouldn't buy it. Sony needs to restructure the entire PlayStation brand before I give them another cent. If the PlayStation 6 is digital-only, it could be a big problem for players in more than 120 countries.
The PlayStation Store is officially available in only 69 countries and territories.
That means 121 countries, or about 64% of the world’s countries, still lack official access to Sony’s digital store.
Right now, many players in those countries can buy physical PlayStation games, but if future PlayStation consoles no longer use discs, they could lose their easiest way to buy new games.
Sony still hasn’t expanded PlayStation Store support to those countries, If the PS6 is digital-only, that issue could affect millions of players around the world.
