I was very fortunate to be invited to the press event in NYC where the new Sony A7RVI was launched last Wednesday (May 13, 2026). After the presser was over, we were able to take cameras out and shoot them for an hour or so with a lens. I chose the 50-150GM and took off. I shot all the models in the building first and then headed out to Central Park to shoot real people and things. The files were so impressive that I made this video to share with you! It's an amazing piece of tech that I'm not sure how Sony pulled off. I shot only jpeg/heif files so I could immediately work the files in LR and be able to share them on social media. If you have any questions for me I'm happy to try to answer them. The new Sony A7RVI represents a departure from the cameras that Sony has made to date. New menu items, new batteries, new grip, and the first large file camera Sony has ever made that acts like a sports camera. it';s alive wire in your hands. Many pros, see in this body, the future of all the bodies that will follow. I can't wait for the A1III to come onto the scene because if they can make a 68mp camera shoot 30fps with 1 second pre-capture, what will they be able to do with a new a1????
