For years the Sony Website History section claimed that this was the first "digital" clock radio when in came out in 1968. That claim has ceased but it's still visible on the Internet Archive.
Many people have claimed and still claim this was the first Digital Clock Radio.
However, in 1967 JC Penny advertised a "Penncrest Exclusive" digital clock radio. This featured a rolling wheel-type clock mechanism.
The most that could be said, in truth, is that this was the first flip clock radio combination. Yet, the very next year 1969 essentially every major manufacturer had a flip clock radio - some of the nicest ever produced actually.
This particular specimen in our collection includes the original booklet, an original cleaning cloth and the hard to find "pillow speaker attachment."
This is a real treasure and we're blessed to have it.
