A complete collection of multitrack recordings of the mainline Mega Drive games! (DL Link at the bottom!)
~What are multitracks?~
Multitracks are the individual channels that make up an entire song. That means every instrument is isolated in its own track, and you can use them for making your own remixes of the classic Sonic music.
~Why this pack exists~
In 2023, we got the "weird" proto songs in Sonic Origins and those versions never left my mind.
I also couldn't let go of the thought that Sega of Japan used just in-house resources to make faithful hardware recordings for Origins. The rerecorded SFX are also an example of this -- they really tried -- but why use the "weird" versions of the prototype tracks?
I then started thinking "How can we get SoJ attention to the matter?" and this pack was born! Jun Senoue was going to be nearby for an event and I handed him a small gift and a letter with a QR code link to this pack. You can read more here:

While Origins never got patched, this is still a useful pack for people who want high-quality recordings of the tracks from the games, especially for remixing purposes.
~Technical Info~
It was made using NukedOPN2 with specific settings to emulate the YM2612 (it can also emulate the ASIC YM3438 and the discreet YM3438).
The faint quantization noise in every FM track is the quirk of the YM2612 (people also call it "ladder effect") and it makes some instruments sound quite different.
The channels are split into FM1, FM2, FM3, FM4, FM5, FM6/DAC, PSG1+2, and Noise. So 8 multitracks for every BGM piece.
Sonic CD's past tracks are also included - 7 PCM channels for each.
Enjoy! It was made with care :)
