Josiah Everhart | Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone (cover) @JosiahEverhart | Uploaded 10 years ago | Updated 5 hours ago
I was out of commission with the flu for a couple of weeks, but now I'm BACK.
I did a bit of experimenting with this cover. The original piece is very dear to me so I tried to do a good job with it. That device that I'm using in several of the frames is called an EBow. It uses magnetic fields to vibrate the string which creates that unique effect. I dunno, science, plutonium, whatever.
I decided to throw some bells in there as well. I know that's not how they're supposed to be played, but I had to hold them like that to get my mic to pick them up.
Recording this cover made me realize just how much I need to improve as a guitar player, haha. The main melody seems really simple, but there were a lot of offbeat notes that kept throwing me off.
I got no excuse for the drums. I am not very good at those.
Composed by Masato Nakamura and arranged by me.
