Sonic & Jet were racing towards the core of the MeteorTech facility they infiltrated. Jet was surprised that Sonic could also use the Ark of the Cosmos to control gravity against the SCR robots.
Also, who was responsible for building those robots and running MeteorTech to begin with...?
Why... none other than Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, of course! Looks like he was up to another scheme, but then Sonic and his friends, as well as Jet & Wave, crashed right into his quarters.
But apparently, although he owns MeteorTech, Eggman actually WASN'T responsible for those robots going berserk over those Arks.
Still, when Eggman saw Sonic's Arks, he decided to explaned to them what was going on.
Eggman was trying to keep MeteorTech's mother computer under control, but it suddenly went haywire, thanks to its power unit being similar to that of the Ark of the Cosmos. It's been said that such stones can turn one form of energy into another.
The SCR robots were following a leader, which ALSO wielded it own Ark, too. Together, they're trying to collect all of the Arks that they can find all over the world. But why...?
Thanks to their magnetic pull, Jet deducted that the stones were attracting themselves to each other. Apparently, they were even spoken of in Babylonian legend...
But before Jet could explain that part, he looked for Amy for her own Ark... And that's when EVERYONE found out that Amy wasn't there... and neither was Storm, for that matter...
The whole group then discovered through Eggman's monitor that the robot leader' was now chasing down both of them.
So now it was time to race through the Aquatic Capital to reach Amy & Storm before those robots do!

In this course, you're back playing as Tails, this time in a a pristine water track. Like a high-tech future version of Splash Canyon from the first game. You even get to slide through a water tube, here!
Once again, just win 1st place to move on.
