Here is a full, 100% playthrough of Sonic R for Windows PC, with lighting effects restored from the original Saturn version and 1997 Windows PC version's DirectDraw mode, along with additional improvements to make the gameplay experience more enjoyable with things like support for custom resolutions, windowed mode, downscaling, and more.
This video is meant to showcase how the game plays with these mods applied to improve the gameplay experience, and help spread awareness of these improvements. You can run Sonic R on just about any vaguely current PC due to how simplistic the game is in terms of graphical and technical demand, so give it a try if you're interested.
If you would like to know how to set up the PC version for modding, try this link to an excellent video by BlazeHedgehog with a guide on how to set up Sonic R so you can enjoy it on more modern Windows computers with additions to restore original functionality: youtu.be/ChTn2S2DSS4
This video plays all the stages once to get Chaos Emeralds, then plays Radiant Emerald as regular Sonic for the "Diamond in the Sky" theme, then once again to unlock all the characters, and finally replaying Radiant Emerald for the "Super Sonic Racing" theme.
It's likely that even more mods to enhance the experience will be made in the future, so check GameBanana's Sonic R mods later for even more mods you can try.
