At the very beginning of the development of the arena, the idea was to make it open-ended to emphasize the destruction of Eggman's base. As development progressed, it turned out that the lighting from the sun didn't blend well with the overall mood of the battle and the appearance of the boss.

Another interesting fact, this is the fastest level we created with the team, the entire level was done in a month and a half.
