A technique(?) I've known since the Wii U release that doesn't seem to be out in the open. Doing a spindash, letting go, then holding the button again once Sonic uncurls puts him back in a solid spin state without attack properties. In this state, he can 'surf' along various surfaces that would slow him down or cancel his spindash out;
Water: Possibly works perfectly, no large areas of water to fully test it on
Light Sand: Same as water, but definitely works perfectly
Dark Sand: Uncurls him entirely
Oil/Muck: Works for (random?) periods of time, but eventually uncurls and hurts him
Runners Sonic - the fast blur
