Now that we're done with Tails, it's time to move on to Knuckles' story. The story behind Knuckles' part of the adventure is that Chaos broke out of the Master Emerald while he was guarding over it, and now he has to restore it [the Emerald] before Angel Island sinks into the depths of the ocean.

Knuckles finds the first three missing pieces of the Master Emerald at Speed Highway, and then he moves on to Casinopolis in Station Square to find three more. (Quite a bit of fail in Casinopolis was involved thanks to me.)

After Knuckles found the first six missing pieces of the Emerald, he gets sent into a flashback where the mysterious temple was in its best state. It is here that Knuckles overhears a tribal girl, Tikal, begging her father to stop his tyrannical attacks on other countries and to stop plundering the belongings other tribes. Knuckles somehow gets sent back to Station Square after this flashback, but he doesn't seem to understand why all this happened in the first place.
