In Sonic 3 there remains leftover data for two other bonus stages that would later appear in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The glowing spheres bonus stage largely matches the one found in Sonic 3C 0408, which was somewhat different than the final version. The slot machine bonus stage however, seems to have been vastly different, hardly matching the one in S3K or the S3C 0408 prototype.
