Here's pretty some things I recorded that I thought would be nice to share. I have always been amazed how a guy like Lloyd Green (my favorite pedal steel artist) can record a whole album and not seem to miss a note. My favorite album by Lloyd is "Reflections" (a true masterpiece full of new ideas), which he recorded in Germany in 1992. Amazingly, Lloyd only had 17 hours to record the entire album, because that's how long he was going to be passing thru Germany before going on to another country. Wow! I love that man! Anyway, you can hear Lloyd's influence in my work. I've been getting back into my steel playing more lately, studying Lloyd's chops. It's hard for me to record a whole song without making obvious blunders, so I took some of my better moments in this video; but I'm going to keep working at it, Lord willing.

I love the Vince Gill song, "Look At Us." Lloyd blew my mind in 1995 in St. Louis at Scotty's "International Steel Guitar Convention" (ISGC), at Jeff Newman's Jamboree, which was Lloyd's greatest playing ever in my opinion. I WAS THERE!!! So cool! Vince Gill was there the next year in 1996 and his steel guitar player, John Hughey, was inducted into the ISGC Hall of Fame! John Hughey performed while Vince Gill sang, what else, "Look At Us!" As Tom Morrell once said, "The more I play the luckier I get!" Tom was so right!!!

I bought the "Look At Us" and "The Chair" backing tracks from the Karaoke-version.com website. They were only a couple of bucks. They have all kinds of great songs! "Paper Roses" I found on YouTube.

I'm using an old Peavey Session 400 amp, which is what Lloyd used to record "Reflections." I'm using a Boss DD-3 delay pedal, set to a 800 ms delay. I set it for a couple of repeats (where I can barely hear the third repeat), and the delay time set to the tempo of the song. My amps reverb is set to 4. "Mid" range is set to about 3-4, and my "shift" setting to 6-7. "Bass" is about 8, and "treble" is about 2. My "presence" and "sensitivity" are both set between 6-7. I like the tone-shaping parameters of the Session 400 amplifier.

Thank you for watching and God bless!
