Sonerien Kerne from Brittany, France is joining the Jazz Police live at WWOZ this morning!
We’re up early to welcome these talented young musicians from Brittany, France to New Orleans!
The traditional Breton musicians from Quimper are here in New Orleans for a cultural exchange celebrating the vibrant ties between Brittany and Louisiana. What began in 2023 as an initiative by Aprem’Jazz has grown into a meaningful partnership with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, following a first visit of New Orleans musicians to Brittany last summer. This exchange highlights how music, traditions, and shared experiences continue to strengthen France–Louisiana cultural connections.
