The knife is as powerful as the Biggoron Sword, but due to the guys shotty smithing, it breaks after you hit it against anything a few times, wasting your money. What's even worse is that when you talk to this guy as a kid, he says you have to wait seven years before he'll finish the sword. That's a long time to wait for such a horrible sword.
