Q: How are you able to still play MKWii online? I thought the servers were discontinued?
A: Through a mod called CTGP and with the use of Wiimmfi, we are still able to play MKWii online. It offers a lot more than the vanilla game, with new gamemodes such as Item Rain, 200cc, all new custom tracks and more. Here is a video tutorial on how to get it: youtu.be/-G0x9R1C3Uw
Q: What is "Lounge" and how can I get into it?
A: Lounge is MKWii's version of a solo queue ladder, where we have different ranks for various skill levels. Whether you win or lose determines whether you gain or lose MMR (MatchMaking Rating) and that number determines who you are allowed to play mogis with (mogis are the term we use for lounge events where you can play as a team of 2 vs 5 other teams of 2, teams of 3, etc).
Q: Why is everyone using Funky Kong on the Flame Runner?
A: The answer to this is quite simple: he is the best character stats wise, with the best speed, good weight and decent mini-turbo. Acceleration is not a very important stat in MKWii, because you can do standstill mini-turbos after getting hit.
Q: This isn't the music I remember from MKWii, why is it different?
A: CTGP allows you to import your own custom music and play with it! You can also use item, track and character textures, though lounge doesn't allow that due to competitive integrity. Here's the music pack I use if you're interested: youtu.be/doWv50rxpxo
