My PTSD was awful, I couldn't work a real job, or even go to the grocery store.
It was the height of the pandemic and the person I'm writing about was feeling the pressure. This song tells the story of our relationship, how I wish we could've been closer and wishing she would've taken care of me while I sick with PTSD and also her growing issues with alcohol as her way of coping with my sickness and her own financial issues and depression.
She would say things like "I'm going to the store I'll be home in a little while" but she'd actually be going out to drink with her friends.
I love her but the time documented by this song really hurt me and has affected our relationship ever since. She is still struggling with alcohol.
