A newly uncovered document from a Norfolk County District Attorney public-records release reveals that a concerned citizen filed a formal complaint against Judge Beverly Cannone following the February 18, 2025 Karen Read pretrial hearing.
In the complaint, Nicholas Tabus raises allegations involving judicial impartiality, due process, the defense’s right to respond, Rule 14 discovery obligations, and Brady disclosures. He also criticizes Judge Cannone’s handling of the prosecution’s claims after special prosecutor Hank Brennan corrected the information that prompted her stated “grave concerns.”
The accompanying email contains a striking warning:
“A biased court is not a court of law, rather it is a weapon disguised as justice.”
