$The Ring of Fire Eclipse | June 2021 Dawn on June 10th brought a partial annular solar eclipse to Mid Michigan and I was there with the 80mm refractor to capture it live. Using that raw footage, I created this video of the eclipse. An annular solar eclipse means the angular size of the moon is smaller than that of the sun (moon at apogee and earth at perigee is a usual cause). This results in the moon incompletely covering the sun even when center on center, resulting in a rim of sun all the way around the moon (the ring of fire). This is a partial eclipse of the annular kind. Take a moment, relax to the music and gaze in wonder of the majesty of the universe.
