This is a collaborative project I'm doing all this month with HazelNeverTalks, one of my favorite AMV YouTubers, where we take each song from Earl Sweatshirt's "Some Rap Songs" album and set them to an episode (or episodes) from Manga Sekai Mukashibanashi. We'll be releasing every weekday from now till Christmas Eve so we hope you enjoy!

Best to check the description for every vid cause I'm gonna talk about what we did for each one. This one I actually made all myself, but almost every vid after this Hazel and I have about equal credit in making. Instead of a typical YouTube collab where "I make this part you make that part" we're essentially sending each other drafts and tweaking it on our ends, which I think is pretty cool and different from most other collabs.

To give more background on Manga Sekai Mukashibanashi, it was an anime from 1976-79 by Studio Madhouse that was following the trend set by Studio TAC's Manga Nippon Mukashibanashi, except instead of just Japanese folktales they'd be animating folktales from all over the world (hence Sekai in the title). But the formats are pretty much identical: half length episodes with mostly ONE voice narrating and doing all the voices, and practically every episode is done in a different style with different creative staff. Only what's so stand-out about this show (MSMB) is that staff, which includes episodes directed by Osamu Dezaki, Masami Hata, and Rintaro, eps with character designs by Akio Sugino, eps with art direction by Shichiro Kobayashi, and animated by Manabu Ohashi and Yoshiaki Kawajiri (some eps which he designed and solo animated himself!).
