It was 1985 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Eastburn family home on Summerhill Road would become a crime scene that May. The father and husband, Gary Eastburn, would be called and informed there was a death in the family. It turned out, his wife Katie and their 2 daughters Kara and Erin, had been murdered. His youngest daughter Jana, was found crying in her crib. She had survived this killer. There was nothing pointing to a suspect, however, a witness had seen a man leaving the home a few days earlier. Days later, a man matching this description walked into the police department. His name was Timothy Hennis and he would be tried and found guilty of their murders. However, he would also be granted a retrial that would acquit him of all the. charges. For 20 years, this case went unsolved and then the DNA was tested. It turned out, Timothy D. Hennis was in fact, the killer. Yet, he couldn't be tried again due to double jeopardy, or could he?
