Activating transcendence drops the heart, you can cancel the transcendence before the animation finishes by using something like a super or a diamond lance slam. You can charge transcendence by having gally and a shackle grenade on and then walk out and right before you get teleported you have time to get a shackle grenade off and a gally shot.
