In this video, I was able to win the reworked hardcore mode solo with no special towers, or no towers under level 50, since that is when hardcore is unlocked. This challenge is quite RNG and difficult, while still requiring a very high skill tree unfortunately.

Thanks to SpikeH for first getting me interested in this challenge, and Oofiez (unc still got it) for confirming to me this loadout is possible.
