Have you ever tried to write a book? That’s what I’ve been doing for the better part of a year and it’s hard to do it when you have 8 other living things vying for your attention.
Since we hit the road doing bus life, we have seeing a couples therapist, individually and together. Growing our couple and our relationships with our individual selves and our kids has always been the first priority.
We took out the word “babysit” when it came to Kyle taking care of his own children so I could have time to work uninterrupted or take time for my individual self. Neither one of us are more responsible for our kids than the other one. When either of us need our time, it’s called “parent on duty”. Whichever is the POD, the kids bring their questions and needs to, so the other parent can work uninterrupted.
Kyle came to me and suggested he take the kids solo on adventure day this week so I could stay behind at the bus and work on writing my book.
Each Thursday we have a day out in the world with the kids, as a family making memories. We found that having a scheduled family day a week gives us the opportunity in our busy days to make dedicated memories, and that’s important to each of us.
In today’s Vlog, Kyle loads the kids up in the jeep and makes the 1.5 hour trek to Santa Fe, New Mexico with the kids. Various advent and fun memories await you as you experience bowling with them, go shopping for a very special gift for Molly’s friend, and check out some spooooooooooky finds!
While you’re adventuring with Kyle and the kids, you’ll also be popping in with me around the bus as I write, make lunch, and take a little bit of time to chat with you.
It’s going to be a day of love, learning, and most importantly REAL LIFE 🫶
