Baikal is the deepest lake in the world. Baikal is located in the southern part of Eastern Siberia in two regions of Russia: Irkutsk oblast and Buryatia republic. The maximum depth of the lake is 1642 meters and this is the biggest reservoir of fresh water on Earth. There are about 20 islands in the Lake Baikal, and the biggest one is Olkhon —where I will head from the mainland on skates.
