Over the years I have tried both expensive and cheap soldering irons. I've settled on a reasonably price unit, that has been reliable for over 10 years now. Please always check how you respond to solder, the smoke released (The flux) can cause irritation, some people feel it more than others, it can cause dry eyes, dry throat and nose. Some people don't notice any effect. Always use extraction / fresh air flow and wash hands after handling solider.
