Here's a quick comparison between the SLO and the JCA 50.
At first I started with identical settings on both amps, but the JCA then sounded much more scooped with a lot more top end than the SLO, so I adjusted the settings for them to sound closer to each other.
What you see in the pic is what I ended up with for this clip (notice how the mid knob is dialed much higher and treble and presence lower on the JCA than on the SLO).
I'm sure with a little more tweaking I'd have been able to get them even closer, but I felt this was pretty close already.
IMO the SLO sounds a bit chunkier with juicier mids, a bit more 3D sounding.
The JCA is more scooped and modern sounding with a lot more presence bite.
Overall they can be dialed in to sound EXTREMELY similar in my opinion...personally I do prefer the SLO, but it's certainly no night/day difference.
Bear in mind that the SLO costs more than 10 times as much as the JCA though!
