This is Sol Tarasco Charanda Anejo.

Just like tequila and mezcal, Charandas are a Mexican protected domination of origin spirit. They can be made from sugar cane juice, molasses or piloncillo.

And they can only be made in 16 municipalities within the state of Michoacán , all of which are known for their volcanic rich red soil.

This Anejo is made from 100% cane juice that’s wild fermented for at least ten days and distilled twice on copper pot stills. It’s aged a minimum of 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels.

And it’s macerated with mushroom. Oh yeah. Maybe I should have led with that. Specifically its macerated with blue indigo and oyster mushrooms. There’s even a couple of mushrooms in the bottom of this bottle.
