Two catatonic patients are shown before and after treatment with an intravenous barbiturate, sodium amytal (aka "truth serum"). Before, one patient is a rigid catatonic, the other is catatonic with muscular movements. Several hours after injection, both men are seen eating, walking, and smiling.
