The Underground scene Is currently In shambles.
The definition of Shambles “is a state of confusion, bad organization, or messiness.
That coudnt decribe this scene any better.
I do think there’s some good happening like ken kinda breaking through with his last album.
Although it’s obvious the bad outweighs the good by a landslide.
The music itself seems to be the last thing the fambase of underground cares about. Now what i mean by that is, the underground is a very toxic community, it feels the quote on quote fans, are jus waiting for somthing to clown on or, expose. Or even an artist falling off and or beefing, rather than genuilly support enjoying the music. It’s like a tv show to these youngins who are fans of the new wave, because whoever’s hot, gets love, and if ur not in rotation then ur mid.
The most major issue right now is that, social media is destroying artist mental health. Especially in the underground scene. Iayze, Izaya, Summrs, Lucki, and many more, all have opened up about the unnecessary hate they get and the tole it takes to keep moving forward.
This is the most dependent the world has ever been with social media, and it’s to inner twined with the hip hop world, whereas a lot of these rappers are coming off as influencers, and the music is the last thing people care about. Which in the end, heavily damages your career and mental health, as we’ve seen with the artist in this video.
