Yodragon | So Let Us Melt (With Lyrics) - Music by Jessica Curry @YodragonWasTaken | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 16 hours ago.
I kept searching around for the lyrics to this song but couldn't find them for the longest time. So I took it upon myself to manually figure out the lyrics. I think I did a pretty decent job, though some parts were difficult to make out and you'll have to take the lyrics I've written here with a grain of salt. It's the lyrics near the end in particular that I feel the least confident about.
It turns out that this song takes heavy inspiration from a love poem written in the 1600s called "A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning". It shares a lot of lines and phrases from that poem, so I was able to figure out some of the lyrics that way. I also found the sheet music for this song which helped a lot too.
If only I could figure out the latin lyrics for the other songs in this game, but that's probably too difficult even for me...
Anyway, my favorite part is at 1:29. I just love how those two lines are repeated and used to build intensity in the song. Jessica Curry's choral themes never cease to impress!
Lyrics:
So let us melt, and make no noise
No tear-floods, nor sigh-tempests move
‘Twere profanation of our joys
To tell the laity our love
Moving of the earth brings joys and fears
Careless eyes, lips, and hands to miss
Our two souls which are one
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion
Like gold
Like gold
Such wilt thou be to me
Thy soul comes home
Though I must go
Thy soul comes home
Though I must go
Thy soul comes home
Though I must go
Though I must go
So let us melt
And make no noise
So let us melt
And make no noise
Thy soul comes home
Thy soul, nor tempests
So let us begin
No soul comes though
So let us melt
Like gold
Thy soul
Though I must go
