January 2012, it looked like the people of Chautauqua County had a chance to save the County Home from privatization. The idea of selling was foolish. And in 2012, there were enough legislators to stand up to the saboteurs of public government (those most likely working for, however inadvertently, Agenda 21). But through GOP gerrymandering and the unrelenting privatization propaganda from the Jamestown Post Journal, the bulk of the resistance to privatization was voted out. The home was sold to Eddie Farbenblum 2 years and a month after this rally, Feb. 2014.
Snowshoefilms was privileged to have been able to document and even help the effort to keep the crucial social safety net. This spontaneous moment at a cold January rally was the best thanks we could ever hope for. Thank you. Roy & Karen snowshoefilms/ chautauqua
