What is this challenge?
-A low level run of Strange Journey, meaning EXP can only be gained from forced encounters. This also means any demons need to be discovered by fusion or in-game passwords (no password generator).
Why this and not Redux?
-Maybe later
Something I realized but really should have prepared better for is how weak we would be going into this fight. There isn't so much as a miniboss fight between Mithras and Horkos, and the level we were left at is lower about 99% of all the demons in Carina. It's not so much that we're underleveled for the boss fight, it's that we're underleveled for any possible allies we could make.
Well, I've made my bed. Horkos's defining gimmick is his ability to regain lost health through certain Phys attacks of his that restores half of the damage he deals. They're able to one-hit K.O. our demons without the proper buffs, so applying those are important. He's the first boss in the run to know Dekunda/Dekaja, but he only does them if we apply +/-4. He can also summon a support demon that knows Mudo who he'll eat after about 4 turns for more health.
The original idea was to have Shiisaa and Pyro Jack carry me through the fight with Co-ops, but that strategy proved unstable because, again, strong Phys attacks.
I eventually settled for having Shiisaa and Ippon debuff his attacks before switching in my demons with buffs. Shiisaa came back in mid-fight, but without any buffs, he wasn't worth reviving when he eventually bit it, so I tagged in Makara to help with the healing since Aeros was looking like he was going to go. I probably could've called in another demon to get their source after Horkos fell and Katakiaruwa was left, but I wanted to get rid of her before she Mudo'd my MC or some shit.
Well, lessons learned, on to Sector D!
